I received this show in a trade, somewhere in the 90's. It's a soundboard
recording from their summer '81 UK tour.
This particular show was the last one of the tour was kind of special,
because after this show, a guy came up to the band to offer them his
services. He told them he'd been a fan of the band ever since their first
single. His name was Lars Ulrich. Then again, there's also sources who claim
that the show at Tiffany's, Leeds on the 21st was actually the first time
that lars saw Diamond Head.
The sound quality is pretty good. Well balanced, powerful, no distortion. I
took out some of the hiss, but decided not too use the tool too heavily as
to not affect the sound too much. The tape cuts in 1 minute into the first
song. It's the same during the 1st song on side B ('Am I Evil'). Obviously,
the soundman had other things on his mind than taking care of the tape
recording.... |
