The other day I picked up a lossless copy of this gig from TTD. And while I
was glad to have finally found a lossless copy of
this show I wasn't particulary impressed by the soundquality. So I went..why
not look if there's room for some improvement.
Obviously no miracles were to be expected, but I felt there was indeed some
room for improvement, so I gave it a go.
So I messed about a bit with the Graphic Equalizer in Adobe Audition. I
ended up lifting the higher tones quite a bit and lowering the bass a tad to
balance the overall sound a little.
Naturally the recording couldn't be turned into a crisp SBD recording, but I
do feel the overall quality has improved quite a bit
and it's now a bit more enjoyable to listen to. Under normal circumstances I
wouldn't try and mess with the sound, but since this is a special gig (one
of their first appearances on a major festival) I figured why not try to
make this special 'small gig for a few friends' sound as good as possible.
After the re-mastering process was done I did a new MD5. checksum with
Traders Little Helper and a new frequency analysis with Adobe Audition. In
addition I updated the lineage info to correspond with what I've done to the
recording.
