Following Megadeth's set were Slayer and they pretty much took the lead from
that point on.
Their performance was far more ferocious than Sydney had ever seen before,
though I would argue that the following week's gig at the Luna Park Big Top
definitely left even this performance for dead. Nevertheless, nobody was
disappointed and nor should they have been!
As per the notes of the Megadeth gig, we had serious technical issues
particularly with the idiots at the sound desk with excessive bottom-end
overall and drums overshadowing the rest of the band. The vocals were a hell
of a lot worse than the October 15, 2009 performance too, with Tom's levels
being way too far in the background for my liking. Anyway, if you want more
detail on the technical issues, look for my notes on my Megadeth release.
Not my favourite recording but after many requests, here it is.
