I thought the 2 sources complimented each other, hence the idea of creating
a matrix. burnboy recorded the complete Megadeth set, I was only able to
record the first 15 minutes so sadly this matrix ends at 3:14 of track 4 and
finishes the rest as just burnboys recording. Burnboy's version really
captures the mids (guitar and vocals), while my recording has a huge bass
sound (the bass drum in particular packs a punch) and the cymbals really cut
through. Initially I created an even mix matrix which turned out fine but
then I got the idea to play with the levels a bit, perhaps to enhance a
stereo image without using any pre-set effects. So I tried a couple of
different mixes and decided on using a 66%-34% ratio with 66% taurus and 34%
bb source in the left channel and vice versa for the right. All in all, I'm
pleased with the results and hope you like it too.
