Taper's comments: "Some might call it Cincinnati OH - in particular I
think some promoters seem to be doing that since most people probably won't
know where Covington KY is. In fact, it's on the opposite side of the Ohio
River in the relatively lawless state of Kentucky where booze is cheap,
gambling is legal and people are still allowed to smoke. The Madison is a
much better sounding, sensibly laid out, CLEANER and less security invasive
place than Bogart's in Cincy which is the more traditional local rock venue.
Last night, Robb from Machine Head was very complimentary about The Madison
and quite the opposite about Bogies. Interesting comments from Mustaine
there. He did seem to be complaining about something at one point but we
couldn't hear what he was saying - his mic was borderline useless for the
first couple of songs and his guitar was not as high in the mix as I would
have expected."
Here are Dave's comments about the show posted on the off. bb: "Droogies!
Our apologies to the fans tonight for the outages with the power all night.
We employ professionals and they know all of our specifics before we even
come into any city or venue. From me, to management, to the agent, to all of
our crew, we know better. I don't understand how this happened, but rest
assured it won't happen again. We have some people to buy plane tickets for
and some people to replace and sadly, so very sadly it comes down to
performance. It would be so easy if it was about personalities, because I
love all of these guys, but the buck stops with me, and you said you believe
in us by showing up and we let you down by playing the place we did with the
PA and lights that were there. The building was great, don't get me wrong.
Its just that we draw too much power for this quaint club to handle and it
affected our show. You didn't think so by your cheers, and staying to the
very end, but just know, all I think about, all day long, is getting up here
and giving my very, very best." |
