Notes from Felix :
Well let me tell you the story of the way that show saw the CD-R form :) I
got a tape from a person who was in trades from 1982 through 1990 and he got
that show in early-mid 1985!! So it means it's very low gen copy (if not
copy from master). So the guy was so extremely nice and sent me this very
tape and not a copy from it. So I got this transferred to .wav > and then
burnt onto CDR. As well as some other shows I got from him - I think this
can be called 'Low-gen early Megadeth shows series' Ron you rule!!
Ok, now
about the show itself. It's pretty common within trading circles, but so far
I also saw it in .mp3 format. The quality of this source is simply awesome
considering it's 20+ years old! I mean You can still complain about this and
that but still I doubt you can find a better source. I mean some shows from
later 20 years (even 2004-2005 ones!!) sound way worse than this one!
Megadeth played as three-piece band at this show. You can hear David bass
very clear, as well as his back-vocals. Dave's comments are funny and great
as usual – he calls Megadeth - "Mega-dick-head" lol. Dave states that they
would soon sign a deal with 'Megafuckingcombat' label and release their
first album that most likely be called after the 'Blood and Honor' track (which
is, for those of you who might not know this so far, was a pre-version of
‘Wake Up Dead’). Another song that later one was changed was ‘Next Victim’
which became ‘My Last Words’ later on. It’s pretty nice to hear a 1-min
soloing Dave does before ‘Rattlehead’. I decided that such a great show must
be spiced up with a great small intie for KUSF radio Dave, David and Gar did
around the same time the show took place, i.e. in late October 1984. Dave
talks about new album, demo, new deal, being a three-piece band, Metallica,
plus some funny shi*e about Kerry but not in the offending vein but just
jokes about him, like 'Kerry knows he is a poser, he has already admitted
that'.
Anyways, I’m not sure I’d do this as VERY RARE trade but I guess you’d
have to give me something as great as this is.
