Some general information. There were 6 bands on the bill of that great
festival - Vicious Rumors, Sanctuary, Nuclear Assault, Flotsam & Jetsam,
Testament and Megadeth. The sets of four of them were partially broadcast
over the radio: Vicious Rumors, Sanctuary, Testament and Megadeth.
Here are the comments of a person who shared his great archives in mid-2008:
"Recorded with a AKAI GX-F35E tapedeck in the year these were broadcasted by
Vara's Vuurwerk, a weekly Heavy Metal Radio Show hosted by the Dutch famous
Henk Westbroek. 2008 transcription done on a Denon DRM-600 tapedeck with
32bit resolution in CuBase 5.1 and cut/ edited with ProTools 5.0.1 on a
Macintosh G3. Some minor hiss, RF-interference and lots of distortion is
there."
I used to have the SBD/FM source but this one is really better in quality -
real FM stereo (to my ears at least).
The new source has a full intro, which I did not have and it is a great
addition but it does not have "Anarchy" recorded. So I just made a matrix of
two sources.
Still the broadcast is just a half of what was performed by the band. It
amazes me what songs the radio guys took out - Peace Sells for example!! You
can hear band goes into pre-"These Boots" bass/drums doodle after "Devil’s Island", but it cuts.
