Enormous thanks to my bro Felix for this awesome recording ! This was a
secret gig organised with "Headbanger's Ball".
Here' re the notes from the taper : "This was a secret show
advertised as "Vic And The Rattleheads." Club capacity was around 400. It
was an 18 & over club. I was not yet 18 but determined to attend. I got one
of those cheesy fake IDs. I was clueless how such fake looking fake IDs were
generally not accepted under any circumstances. I got there around noon.
There were already a few people there. A few hours later the band showed up.
They talked with the fans and signed stuff for about a half hour. A few
hours before doors opened, a club employee started reminding people in line
about the club's policy. The guy in front of me claimed to have "lost" his
ID and I showed my obvious fake. He said he would make sure we got in and
would have to have the no drinking stamp. Later on, me and that guy who's
name I dont recall, would take turns holding the recorder and hitting the
mosh pit. I later sent him a copy. Doors opened at 9:00 and Megadeth didnt
come on until 11:30. It was the best Megadeth show I had ever seen and still
one of the top 20-25 gigs I have ever seen. Even though its not the best
quality, hopefully the recording will reflect the excitement I felt that
evening."" |
