Finally, after having this
recording for about 7 years in mp3, in the end of 2008 it was released in
lossless and moreover it turned out that what i had was even incomplete!
Here are the comments of the guy who made it public:
"Lineage: FM > Tape > PC via Audacity v1.2.6 > FLAC Level 6 > CDR.
Megadeth was part of OzzFest 98, which played in Mansfield, MA on July 7th
and 9th. On the day off in between, the band came to the Boston to play a
special acoustic show at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was sponsored by local radio
station WAAF 107.3, and John Osterlind, a DJ from the station, MC'ed the
event, asking questions between songs. There's a small cut in the final
commentary track (for lack of a better term) where the tape was flipped, but
very litte was missed. This is a 10 year old recording, so it may not be
what you'd expect from an FM source. but it's still pretty damn good.
I've been looking for a CD copy of this for a long time, but none of the
bootleg sites I saw had this listed which makes me think no else ever
released this to the public, so here's my copy. This was a fairly special
show in Megadeth history as it was during this show that Jimmy DeGrasso was
officially announced as the band's new drummer.
Megadeth: Dave Mustaine - Vocals, Guitar, David Ellefson - Bass, Backing
Vocals, Marty Friedman - Guitar, Backing Vocals, Jimmy DeGrasso -
Percussion, Backing Vocals."
I remastered the sound a little to make the channels more even, and raised
the overall sound a lil'. Anyways, Megadeth unplugged shows are really cool
to listen! Highly recommended! |
